FAQS

I HAVE AN INJURY OR A CHRONIC CONDITION. CAN I STILL PRACTICE PILATES?

With its focus on strength, balance, stability, balanced muscle development and improving functional movement patterns, Pilates can be a highly effective tool for both recovering from an injury and preventing future injuries. If you have been recently injured, it is recommended that you first obtain a release from your physician, or other health care provider, to participate in a Pilates program.

If you are managing a chronic condition, please make sure to note this on your Client Information Form, so that we can develop a plan that is appropriate for your needs.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE PILATES?

There is no single answer as it depends on a variety of factors such as, what other activities you partake in, time, finances and your specific goals. If it is your only or primary form of exercise, we recommend three times a week or more. However, even once a week can provide a wonderful supplemental, cross-training benefit to the body.

As with any movement practice, consistency is key.

WHAT DO I WEAR TO A SESSION?

Wear clothing that you are comfortable moving in. At times you may have your legs elevated or body inverted, so choose clothing that is form-fitting and will move with your body.

Clothing should be free of embellishments, such as buckles or zippers, that may catch on or damage the Pilates equipment. Similarly, you may be asked to remove large or sharp jewelry.

Please be aware that we practice in grippy socks or bare feet. Regular socks are not permitted to practice in as they can be slippery and may lead to injury.

Grippy socks are available for purchase in the studio.

WHAT ARE YOUR PURCHASE & CANCELLATION POLICIES?

All single sessions and packages purchased must be used within 6 months of the purchase date.

There is a 12-hour cancellation window prior to all appointments. If you need to cancel or reschedule, you can do so through the scheduling software or by emailing Lacey@core6pilates.com.

In order to keep the studio schedule moving, sessions will begin and end promptly, as scheduled. If you are late to your session, it will still end at the scheduled time.

PARKING & ENTRANCE

With our location on a quiet residential street, there is ample street parking available. You are also welcome to park in the driveway if it is available.

The entrance is on the rear side of the house. There is a Core 6 Pilates sign to the right of the driveway. There, you'll find a path that leads around back. Cross the patio and you'll find stairs to the lower level, where there is another studio sign on the door.

WHAT COVID PRECAUTIONS DO YOU TAKE?

We follow current Montgomery County requirements in regards to mask usage. However, your comfort is our primary concern, and requests to wear masks during sessions will be accommodated.

We do require that clients be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 (as is our Instructor) in order to enter the studio.

With a window to the outdoors that lets in fresh air, the studio has a Levoit air filter that continuously cleans the entire room's air in a matter of minutes. The equipment is, of course, fully sanitized between each client.

We ask that you do not enter the premises if you have any signs of illness such as cough, fever or sore throat.
